Milena Ivanova is the Principal Solicitor of Legally Smart.
Milena is admitted to practice as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia.
Prior to pursuing a legal career, Milena had two successful international careers in engineering and management consulting.
Milena’s engineering experience helped her further enhance her discipline, diligence and attention to detail, all important traits that she applies in her legal work for clients.
Milena’s consulting experience for various industries helps Milena better understand the needs and challenges of business. This in turn enables her to advise her business clients more effectively in relation to protecting their business interests.
Milena appreciates that each client and their personal goal is unique. Diligent, responsible, and reliable, with excellent ability to pay attention to detail, Milena ensures that her clients’ personal goals and objectives are achieved in the best possible and legally compliant way.
Milena’s legal work has been wide ranging. Extending from complex estate planning matters to preparation of simple wills, powers of attorney, appointment of enduring guardians, elder law, administration of deceased estates, testamentary, and various other trusts.
Milena helps families and businesses apply relevant estate planning and succession strategies to their circumstances, so that should the need of transitioning to retirement or unforeseen circumstances arises, all the necessary legal documents are in place.
Working with financial and legal professionals, Milena helps clients to create assets protection strategies enabling clients to preserve their wealth for future generations and pass it on to the persons they intend.
Milena believes that communication is the key to a good outcome. In short, she is a problem solver, very direct, and honest in her approach in advising clients about what is and what is not realistic to achieve from a legal perspective in relation to the client’s personal objectives and specific circumstances.
Holding degrees in Law, Engineering and Business, Milena believes in continuous improvement, and better serving her clients. Milena is constantly updating and improving her legal skills and knowledge. She has recently graduated with Master of Laws (Applied Law) majoring in Estate Planning and Wills and Estates from the College of Law. Currently Milena is working towards Master of Laws (Applied Law) majoring in Business Law and Transactions at the College of Law.
Milena is fluent in Russian and Bulgarian. In her spare time Milena enjoys reading, art, musicals, making European tapestries, and spending time with her family.
